ok so to list an obvious few,
how u emo but listen to escape the fate
how u hardcore punk but listen to kublai khan tx
how u punk in general but listen to green day LOL
make it make sense,, please
ronnie radke is transphobic
matt honeycutt is republican
and green day is a band full with corporate sellouts
has the ethics and values really diminished that much?
no, i will not be separating the art from the artist.
yes i know punk has been filled with contradictions since the 70s,
but i dont fckin care! people need to grow up and stop listening to problematic artists rather than acting like a br00tal leftist lol, because evidently with the music you listen to, that is so far from true.
become a TRUE punk and hold those values deep within your heart. if not, punk will become further of an aesthetic more than an ideology.
emo holds punk values, (most) metal holds punk values and punk is ROOTED in ethical and political commitments!
so, are you gonna pose for the scene, or live by what it actually stands for?

i really get this and i agree with it to an extent!!!! I believe every band u will ever listen to will have controversies, the best thing to do is pirate their music :D I have hundreds of thrifted CDs/burnt CDs and mp3 files so I dont have to financially support the bands I enjoy
i love burning my CD's!! i guess its a double edged sword bc with bands that actually have good reputations,, i wouldnt be supporting their music via burning.. ^_^' well, besiiides buying their band tees sooo i guess its fine :3
