more like germinating. i love gardening ohmygosh its so...... full of life.

i'm kind of obsessed with this plant rn. it's a tziziquil, (bidens pilosa) and apparently has a lot of good uses. it's amazing since i see it everywhere and is considered a weed due to the size it grows to. which is sad. i am trying different ways of using it to see which one fits better on me :)
a son of the plant above
then, i used to be so afraid of bugs (and i still am with some of them) and gardening has made me more gentle with them, i am able to not scream when a spider lands on me or grab pill bugs with my hands to relocate them to a safe place. those beetles and grubs are still a no-no for me, so i just hide until they leave lol

this plant that came out of nowhere
i also planted potatoes. they look good i guess? i don't know when to harvest them or whatever so they'll just stay there forever. i tried germinating bell peppers but no sprout yet.
on a sadder note, my tziziquil i tried rescuing from a lawn about to be mowed wilted. I tried to keep as much of the original soil and roots, and even trimmed the leaves and kept it nourished, but it didn't work. I will plant my newly germinated tziziquil in there, i hope the roots left behind help it.
theres also something growing

tziziquil means rugged edges, like the one this plant has. tziziquiloa means to scarify someone. scarification is used as a protection ritual in my area, but it comes from african culture. it probably happened in mexico too, before spanish intervention.
and tzizicaztli is the wound and stinging some plants and seeds produce.
i am going nowhere with this last paragraph. I am just amazed at how language connects with nature and human behavior. a plant that causes both good and harm, just like scars come from a wound.
Also there is no "nature" category for blogs. why????
guess i'll add sources. my teachers would kill me otherwise.
