✦ NIGHTCORE: A GENRE ✦
I find it odd how a simple change in pitch and speed can define a lot of music. This subgenre has shaped a lot of people's music taste, and even introduced many people to a lot of pop and EDM songs, in my case, the song you are listening to. This genre, while definitely in the decline, I would argue is in a decline in name only. Many songs, especially electronic songs, are still remixed via a sped up tempo and a pitch, but under labels such as "TikTok Version" or simply "Sped-Up Version". Let's be honest: it's Nightcore.
Angel With A Shotgun, Burn, and various songs by Cascade. All complete with an anime girl cover art for the YouTube video. I wondered often as a kid why specifically anime. I had no qualms with it as I was an avid anime fan as a kid (and now still a casual fan), but in hindsight it was incredibly obvious because of the voices XD So, I still find it important to the genre because it is a nice little piece of its identity. It is a little sad to see the trend go from its own little niece subgenre into a uninspired "its from tiktok" or "its just sped up" feeling of a title.
So, I guess what I am trying to say, to conclude this rant, is: It's not called SPEED-UP VERSION, or TIKTOK VERSION, it's called NIGHTCORE, AND YOU PUT AN ANIME GIRL ON THE THUMBNAIL!!!
