first post! summer goals and rambling

ok hiii this is my second first post on this blog ... i made this acct when i was 15 and only ever posted 2 things on it but its gonna be different this time around. i want to use this summer to better myself and kick my ass into gear before my LAST YEAR at my community college and the subsequent FIRST YEAR at my university of choice (which is yet to be decided. i'll probably blog about that later during applications season), so i'm doing a ~digital detox~ but not really.

i have been chronically online from a very young age (probably 8 or 9 ish ???) and i've always tried to do social media detoxes but they never worked so THIS TIME i am going sort of easy baby mode on myself. it's not a total social media break but it's definitely different than what i'm doing now. starting JUNE 1 i am deleting every social media app from my phone except for facebook ( family stuff ) and spacehey ... and maybe youtube. i'm keeping letterboxd on there but i dont really count that as social media i just use it to log movies. ANYWAY. my goal isn't to totally separate myself from social media it's just to get my screentime wayyyy down and my attention span wayyyy up because i gotta lock in hard !!! so i am deleting all of the apps that i typically doomscroll on ( twt, insta, tiktok, etc ) to see if that helps me. the "easy baby mode" part is that i will allow myself to use discord ONLY ON DESKTOP like it's computer lab time in elementary school. i have friends that i like to call and play games with and its just easier for everyone to use discord lol

similarly i want to build good habits for myself overall!!! i was super locked in from august-october last year and then fell off super hard after halloween so i want to get back into that. i want to try one of those "75 hard" challenges because it turns out that 75 days from june 1 is the second day of my family vacation so!!! i have a neat little completion reward already built in for me lol. my main goals for the challenge are to:

  • start regularly working out again (gym rat era incoming)
  • eat clean (also start caring abt protein so i can get those #gainz)
  • focus on my hobbies (learning to code, sewing, reading, writing, etc)
  • work towards college (job, scholarships, applications, etc)

i guess i'm posting this for accountability reasons ?? idk not that any of you are going to yell at me abt this lol i'm just talking into the void ( aren't we all ) so i don't give up on myself halfway through. this is super rambly and not organized at all but such is the nature of my mind. thank you for reading this if you have done so ... i want to post daily so keep an eye out i guess
