The Backrooms movie

(spoilers)

So,

I'm not a reviewer by trade. This won't be a good vs bad type of review. I've just waited a long time for this (tho, I think it'd make better use of the material to make a TV series. Maybe they will one day) and I wanna hear everyone's opinions.

Here's my thoughts after watch one,

I think I'm missing a lot of Easter eggs. Why did the alarm clock say 12:01 for example? The entities are mysterious too. I know the ones we see are "remembered" but what about people who get stuck? Like, I inferred by Clark's tape that the tall figure who gets to him is the captain, and that he turned clark into a hostile entity by driving him insane. But he was still human. Why was he spared and not his friends? Or if he wasn't spared, why was he cloned? If he had become friendly with the captain, why did he later eat clark?

Did the dinner scene actually take place in his house, or was that just projection? If it is his house, it makes sense the redhead would be his wife and that she would run away from the captain even tho she's unafraid of anything else. But what about the man in the stripped shirt? A neighbor perhaps? Just how much time had passed for clark anyway?

Is the cliffhanger just bait for a part 2 or do they just want everything to be uncertain? Only time will tell I suppose.

I rarely get metaphors but I think it's pretty obvious that they made some anti-AI allegories. There's lots of discussion around "taking the path of least resistance" and "the more times it remembers something, the less it does." And "even if they are remembered a little bit wrong, these ones are better. They don't feel, they don't have opinions, I can abuse them any way I like and they want for nothing." There's more but I think u get my point.  I'm not sure how to feel but I do think I liked the movie over all. What do you think? Comment below :)
