Why I left TikTok (it sucks)

Okay bruvs, I want to begin by saying I’M AN OG TIKTOK LOVER‼️ I ATE ts up back when it first came out and I continued to love it for years after. As y’all may know, TikTok was originally owned by a company outside of the US and later got sold to some bums IN the US. A clear cut sign that TikTok was about to become corporate slop.

Biggest fumble of the whole friggin universe because TikTok went from a wholesome enjoyable dancing and lip syncing app where everyone was super silly and fun and chill…

…to an absolute hell hole of an app where everyone is CONSTANTLY and CONSISTENTLY wanting to play into this moral hierarchy where everyone SWEARS they’re at the top of (they’re all performative asf), ads EVERY. OTHER. VIDEO. (not including the undisclosed and very illegal ads people make), and now runs like a fkn business with the addition of TikTok shop… 

It honestly breaks my heart how this app is being bent over and f0cked in every which way especially after remembering how cute and fun it used to be :( 

Okay now into the reason why I (in particular) left the clock app, TikTok.

An entire group of people were HOUNDING me under a comment I made under some recent drama with some funky frog chick & the digital circus creator. Now, before I continue, I wanna let ppl reading this know that idk much about the girl involved I just know she defended some crazy shi that genuinely disgusted me. Anyways, I left the comment expressing my disappointment and dislike for her response or wtv and people were coming at me for my PROFILE PICTURE 😭💔 (for context, it’s an image of an emo dude I found on Pinterest that I thought was silly and cool, I’ll try to leave an image but take it ez on me, it’s my first time posting)

Yeah so here I was, early asf in the morning getting replies saying I support someone horrible, mind you, IDK WHO THIS GUY IS‼️🫩 so anyways I kept trying to defend myself but people weren’t believing me saying I’m a liar for not knowing who he is and that I support his actions or wtv (I have no clue on what they’re talking about) and I was genuinely flabbergasted like why am I being hated on for a PROFILE PICTUREEEEE💔💔💔 either way imma look into this guy but STILL! I genuinely think this was blown SO FAR OUT OF PROPORTION for no real reason💔😭 I’m not much of a push over but I replied to many comments saying that I’d change the pfp if it was rlly that bad but I eventually got two private message requests calling me a b!tch and other gross names so after that I genuinely stopped caring about what these people were saying about me :/

While I’ve had really crazy or annoying interactions on that app recently, I never thought I’d be treated so badly over something so trivial. My mental health isn’t the best so honestly, I decided to delete the app because I just kept getting more and more awful replies and I simply chose to not worry about it anymore.

All that being said, plz lemme know if you’ve had an experience like this where ppl on TikTok try to paint you (or convince you) you’re a horrible person just so they can tell you how much better they are than you cause they don’t have an emo pfp?💔😭
