Yap about horror stories

I think horror stories or just stories that are meant to be scary in general are better when we don't get to know everything

Like when you know the character(s) are scared of something, or are in danger in someway but the story never tell you exactly what so you have to imagine it yourself, so you end up mixing in your own fears into it and it start to feel somehow real

I had a book that was ONLY short stories like this when i was in elementary and that was the scariest thing I read XD(along with a thing called "ghost and monsters around the world illustrated" but it's something else)

This book had a story with a child dying after climbing a holy tree and teaches acting like it's normal or just a single page where a girl accidentally kills her dog while playing piano because she hit a wrong chord and it was marketed toward children lol

Anyway i just like it when a story just says "use your imagination" and proceed to throw random horrific things without context

I personally like uncanny valley alot. It's just so disturbing when you see something which is odd in a way you cant explain. When someone just seems out of place without an exact explaination. No scary sound effects, no jumpscares, just something hard to recognize despite looking so harmless.
