MODISTE Takes Over Waterfront Thursday at WFPK | Review by Michael Cash

Just wanted to give a huge shoutout and review to MODISTE after seeing them live at WFPK Waterfront Wednesday… or should I say WFPK Waterfront THURSDAY thanks to the weather delay! MODISTE is an incredible 80s-inspired pop dance power trio out of Louisville, Kentucky bringing a nostalgic synth-driven sound mixed with modern energy and visuals. Seriously one of the coolest live acts I’ve seen in awhile. Their live cover of Depeche Mode’s “Enjoy The Silence” was absolutely amazing and the whole crowd was locked in. Their original single “Shadows” is also definitely worth checking out. The sound quality, stage presence, lights, synths, bass lines, and overall atmosphere were all on point. They sound great online but even better live in person. I also got the chance to interview the bass player / keyboardist / DJ for the band backstage and talk about the project, the live production, lights, visuals, and everything they’ve got going on behind the scenes. Really cool people and an even cooler band. Louisville has something special with MODISTE and I definitely recommend catching them live if you get the chance.
