Evil Nintendo

Why is Nintendo actually so money hungry? First you have to pay 200-400$ just for the game console which I understand is pretty standard but if you want any accessories or extra controllers it’s 50-100$ and already that’s pretty spendy! But then every game is like 50$ and then if you want to play with friends you need an online account to do anything??? I’m mainly posting this because i have fallen victim to tomodachi life living the dream but i went to play Minecraft with a friend today tell me why I need an online account like is it not free with the 7$ version on mobile ughhh wtv. :(
