Let me preface this by saying I obviously do not condone Maxwell's actions. If I did, I wouldn't be writing this blog. 

If it wasn't obvious enough by the edgy aesthetics and weird fixation on Hitogata, I am Carmilla. "Striptorturer." A certain writer of uncensored blogs both on Napo and Spacehey (at least before I was booted for a bulletin.) I was the goodie-goodie moralist of Spacehey, using evidence, archives, and citations to prove right from wrong. Now, I am the exact same; just supplying for a different site.

Maxwell is not welcome here. He has already teetered the line of being a fucking moron we want gone too many times in the past. Unfortunately, I've had the grace of learning his previous behaviors and his obsession with popularity - to be hip with the times, to be cool with the kids. I now realize that he was never willing to be a volunteer, to help, to be a role model; he wanted popularity. Attention. To be the face of Napo. (Fuck you. Napo-chan is the face of Napo.)

i. Beginnings

I first interacted with Maxwell in a blog I wrote on Spacehey. Since then and until these past couple of months, I have blindly associated with Maxwell, thinking that he was simply an immature webber who needed to grow up a bit. Eventually, this sentiment disappeared when he continued to obnoxiously promote Napo - especially when we weren't even a week old at a point. We were held together by hopes and dreams at that point - and Maxwell is simultaneously the reason why we have thousands of users and why people hate us. If you know anything about me, my Spacehey sagas, or my Napo saga, I operate off of logic and morality. It is very rarely that I go out of my way to argue with people anymore.

ii. Maxwell's Staining of Napo's Image

We are not some oldweb reskin of 4chan. Half of staff is queer, we have people of color on our team, and a portion of us are neurodivergent or disabled. Fuck's sake, the majority of our user demographic are queer leftists. We ban people for queerphobia and Nazi dogwhistles (like Little Miss "A.H. in her heroes section".) Unfortunately, Maxwell is the one I believe cemented this "4chan" rep for us; he was obnoxious, made fun of someone for being a therian, and was transphobic towards another obnoxious individual; while I do not like obnoxiousness, there is no excuse for not having basic human decency and just referring to someone as the name they use. I have found Maxwell's behavior aggravating since it began to turn people against us; again, promoting any site that didn't even have a working ban system at the time is asking for it, at this point. Especially while painting it as the "brand new" alternative to Spacehey; in the long run, Napo is barely going to be a Myspace clone. Don't mislead people. Max, during the development of Napo, has:

- promoted Napo within a week of its existence

- promoted Napo when we didn't even have a lot of major features

- promoted Napo when we still only have one developer

- failed to do his duties as a staff member

- refused to take user complaints, especially about him, seriously

- made changes to site themes without informing staff or getting permission from Sino

- spammed Napo's IRC channels, which later led to Napochat requiring complete registration

- used blog exploits to force people to see blogs about Napo

- used blog exploits to embarrass and bully users who disliked Napo

- unbanned multiple users who were banned for a reason, such as false grooming allegations

- attempted to delete the site when the userbase was asked if he should be demoted or not

- attempted to intimidate users by saying he has the entire userbase's emails.

Max's behavior does not reflect the rest of the staff or our userbase, but it has sure as fuck tarnished our credibility.

iii. Maxwell's Craving for Attention

Now, let me clarify. Max joined Spacehey a year ago. I have been on Spacehey for 5 years; David has been on Spacehey for 5 years; multiple notable Napo users have been using Spacehey much longer than he has. I believe he just simply does not understand the flaws within Spacehey genuinely. Over the years, I have witnessed gore flashed across my screen with multiple methods; hiding contact info so there's no way to report or block gore profiles normally, using layouts to flash gore, using the New People section to flash gore, using blogs to attract attention to gore profiles, even using the Gaza war to garner sympathy and make people click on gore profiles. This has led to Layouts being shut down (possibly for good), multiple users leaving the site, and goreposters establishing a name for themselves - alongside Spacehey's bad moderation now becoming more obvious. To briefly compare, FriendRewind has a hash system. This hash system works in the same way Take It Down does, using hash values to identify images like a fingerprint. When offending content is uploaded or reported, the hash is documented so that if the image is reuploaded, it is taken down immediately. It is as simple as that; hash value systems are widely used and easy to add to sites.

Back to the point. Maxwell is concerningly obsessed with attention; which, I am aware I am giving him such by posting this blog, but I don't give a shit anymore. Bad attention is still attention, but at least it will provide clarity. Ever since his appearance on Spacehey, he has become a friend collector of sorts; the only reason he got the attention he did was because he constantly added people. When the movement for better moderation exploded on Spacehey, he jumped on it; now driving attention away from the term "Put David in the mech," and giving himself attention by adding his own twist to it - "goat4admin." While both clearly got what they wanted on Napo (albeit Maxwell not to the same power that Sino has), I firmly believe this was all an act for attention. Maxwell did not ever involve himself in the movement for better Spacehey moderation; he only noticed that it was getting popular.

Maxwell has always been weird about attention. Why he behaves this way, I could not tell you. Any sort of criticism towards him in his eyes is seen as being a "snowflake" or butthurt; even when the criticism is valid. Despite this, he rolls around in the negative attention like a mud bath, and I guarantee he will do the same with this blog. He will bump negative blogs about him or Napo to the front page of Top Blogs, especially when they're just angry teenagers who are tired of the promotion and him being annoying. I wouldn't be shocked if he, again, did the same with this blog. I'm not scared of attention or being on Top Blogs; that's the whole reason why I was ever popular in the first place, because I was outspoken and didn't care who I pissed off. I'm still like that.

Since Maxwell's exile from Napo, I have learned lots of things about him. Particularly his fondness of competing with literal fucking minors for attention. Now, I will always find this shit stupid and corny as fuck. I hate the idolatry of celebrities and micro-celebrities; in the end, everyone is a person and nobody should treat another any different just because their name is the product that sells. And truthfully, that is what Maxwell is clinging to; popularity. I have learned that Maxwell has competed with people for attention (I learned this from David, from whom he learned this from I will not name out of respect and privacy), going as far as to trash reputations and find people who are criticizing him and harass them. He has lost his credibility in attracting organic attention to his blogs; I now question if he was ever organically popular in the first place like some of us were.

I do not believe Maxwell associated with me or David for any other reason besides us being popular in our respective times on Spacehey. I do not believe Maxwell associated with Napo for any other reason besides the concept of the site being popularized. I do not believe Maxwell promoted Napo for any other reason besides popularity. Because of his behavior, he has been seen as the face of Napo - which is what he wanted in the first place. 

This is also why he banned Doc/Freeman and David, despite never directly expressing discontentment to Maxwell about his behavior; the two were popular for their movement for better Spacehey moderation and have continued to be popular. Even during Doc's break, people expressed support and concern for him due to his sudden disappearance. (He's fine now.)

iv. Moving Forward + End Thoughts

I am disgusted by Maxwell's behavior. I have always found him particularly annoying but reluctantly did not say much about him publicly due to him being my coworker. This is a fucking 32 year old ruining a barely 2-month-old website's reputation and competing with everyone to be popular because he wants attention. Not once will his behavior on Spacehey or Napo reflect us as staff members; especially not me, as I've chosen to stay out of this for the most part until shit completely hit the fan. I apologize for his behavior; I know it is not anyone's fault but his, but I figure that if he will not apologize, I will.

I did not mean to associate with him blindly because I was caught up trying to juggle my personal life and Napo all at once. I wish I had listened instead of dismissing early concerns and warning signs, but alas, people will always make mistakes. Again, I apologize for associating with him; I have completely cut him out of my life and I do not wish to contact him or be contacted by him again. I have left the Goatopia server with many other users, he has been completely booted from Napo, and now he has to resort to using Spacehey again - endlessly attention seeking before deleting his blogs because nobody cares about him now that everything is said and done.
