Our society lost its soul

Hey girlies, this is my first blog entry and I genuinely NEED to talk to somebody about this because I can´t speak with anyone about it.

So basically, I have noticed we, as a society, have lost our spark. When you look at our history up until the mid 2010s, we always had expressed ourselves through the current trends. Especially in the 2000s, people loved to show their character and personality through their clothes, homes and even cars. They all had different styles that somehow matched their personalities PERFECTLY. You can see this in those typical 2000s TV shows, for example Gossip Girl. Every character had their own unique style that matched them. Blair had that posh and classy upper east side look that matched her perfectionism perfectly, Serena had that messy-chic it girl glam style.

Now, everything is the same, everyone looks the same. When you take a look at the teenagers from my generation, you will see high or mid-waisted plain jeans with a beige or white sweater paired with Uggs and a hairclip. I blame the Stockholm-Style-trend. I think it was a lovely trend, but now that everybody´s wearing it, it just doesn´t really show character anymore.

Also, our homes are so plain now. It´s almost depressing. Everything is beige or grey, minimalistic, modern. Back in the day, we styled our rooms and houses like it was a part of us.

Anyways, this was just a small rant, but I am genuinely interested in your opinion. What do you think of today´s trends?

Kisses,

Svetlana
