EPISODE 2: "to be, or not to be: that's the question"
In today's episode I will be sharing a poem I wrote a year ago. I've written about 12 poems in English in my life and I would say 9 of them would go straight to the ABSOLUTE SHIT category. But this one is little different because I actually liked it after I wrote it. It is about our inner monologue, thoughts, the voice that we hear constantly inside our skulls but tend to tone it down once it gets too loud for our liking. It is about the conscience of human soul that we drown under our own desires. It illustrates the life of it while we make it suffer for no reason.
Enjoy, my dear readers and feel free to tell me whether it was LIT or ABSOLUTE SHIT!
The sound
I open my eyes,
a sound,
keeps mumbling in our minds
a sound,
that constantly reminds of itself
is always there in ourselves.
It moves shadows at night,
to gain strength and wait for the moment to strike
It swallows us up and won't let go of us.
It absorbs the human soul,
Chains it for eternity,
and makes it play a role.
Sends it to death to tend the cattle like a slave,
Like a slave that didn't have an other choice than be without a name,
to get wasted, to disappear, to die
and dig up its own grave,
was destined to be a voice,
a sound in human soul that screams from suffering,
that will be forgotten once we start answering.
From the first moment it starts howling,
to the last moment it stops whining,
the sound will suffer,
as we drown its voice under.
- me (January,2025)
It was an alright poem, or what do you think? It will get something between our two options but I would tilt more on the ABSOLUTE SHIT category than LIT. Again good elements and idea, but there is a lot of scape to improve the form of the poem as in rhymes etc.
