Philosophy question

While we were in math class, some sort of discussion occured, I didn't really listen, cause it was mostly bull shit of people trying to sound , but one guy said

>I will say a sentence that will make you all sad. Free will doesn't exist

And I heard that statement before, and I have mixed opinions about it, but I never delved too much into it, since I know that the more I go into it the deeper in the rabbit hole I will go.

But maybe someone here that is interested in philosophy could answer the question, would him stating that be a part of the free will? Cause there was no reason for him to be saying that, it wasn't part of the convo or had anything to do with it, and the only thing that happened, was that he looked "insane" in front" of the other normie classmates. He looked like he knew what he was saying, and it just made me sad, because I knew that no-one was really taking in what he was saying, and we're just trying to look "cool" like they are listening to the big Ted (141 guys!) o algo asi.

if the conversation was related to religion i can guess why
an all loving, all knowing, all powerful, always existing god, existed, he knows every single thing you're gonna do in your life
so think about it like this, your mom was born, she was gonna have a kid, who was gonna be you, who was gonna do everything you have done in ur life
god being all knowing at every moment of his existence means he knew it was gonna happen from the beginning of existence itself cuz everything lead to another thing and you effectively had no will over that. you wouldn't even have free will over your own thoughts cuz they were also meant to exist the moment they're existing
you can't choose anything cuz you're not more powerful than god to be a defying authority to what he has already foreseen.

we still don't know how consciousness works so i think it's hard to tell what's exactly you to know if that we perceive as ourselves hasn't all of their actions determined by something
but i don't fully know everything about the topic available to the public yk? so don't take my word like the truth it's just what i think
