NO ERROR NO LIFE

One year ago I produced a very low budget short film of mine, called One hundred lives.

Originally incepted around fifteen years ago with some friends of mine, I integrated the old video clips we made back in the day with new ones. It became a sort of living film, that I plan to extend again and the again in the future along the rest of my lifetime, so that it becomes a sort of autobiographical film of mine. In last year's version the logline is "Purity does not exist", in the meaning of "There's no way to live a life without mistakes; we are the results of those mistakes and those hundreds of lives that we didn't live because of those mistakes".

I definitely did not expect to find similar things here, in a totally unrelated work by a duo of friends of mine, from my same city. This suggests me that I'm not alone in my wonderings. This is not unheard of, and actually it's a pretty common thing among artists, because we're all connected to the same society around and we feel the same things, individually. Yet, I thought this was a very private thing of mine, and I stand corrected.

The album's great. Dark, electronic ambient music with minimalistic lyrics and vibe. I think the music is associated to a performance act that I still didn't have the chance to check out, but I hopefully soon will in the future. There's a very coherent design in the whole album, of which you definitely can feel the concept along all the tracks. It reminded me of some works by Laibach (the whole Also Sprach Zarathustra album, Les Privileges des Morts...). I was not expecting to be cuddled so much by this album, but I was, and in fact it ended up giving my ideas. For things to write, feelings to experience, choices to make...
