IB is stupid

The day after tomorrow i am dropping out of IB, very little regrets.

At my school atleast the program isnt run very well, i think the counselor is a little aloof and doesn't fully put in the effort to listen to students. But soing aice or ap grants you basically the same privileges if not more in some specific situations.

I plan on studying to become a zookeeper or environmental scientist. There are many classes offered that would let me confirm thats 100% what i want to do and help me actually get slightly ahead but i am trapped not being allowed to because of IB. 

Marine biology is an example, you just arent allowed to take it if you have IB, they haven't even attempted on making it work. It would have to be an elective, makes sense, but they just don't really allow it. It would only make sense that IB cant take the class if its only class was during traditional fourth period which is during our lunch. Its not because the classes bleed into multiple of our blocks, i know people with second period electives and that is during the end of first block, homeroom, and second block. They are just fine to take those classes.

The workload is stupid. Im technically in pre-IB but in some classes in graded like the seniors(not exaggerating, the teach said that herself multiple times). Why would they think it make any logical sense to put all the freshman in AP macroeconomics. theres less than a 50% pass rate for that class in my state atleast and that includes seniors who choose to take the class. Its only a semester long and because block scheduling its really less than that. 

Its dumb, i hate it, they let basically anyone in, and im so glad im dropping out. Im gonna love my two electives next year and actually learning stuff that pertains to what i wanna do instead of the only helpful class being HL bio
