The worst witch (1998)

I'm a huge fan of everything witchy, so it's no surprise that I adore this series. The story follows Mildred Hubble, a young girl who attends Cackle's Academy, a magic school full of fun, mischief, and, of course, spells.

Mildred has a natural knack for getting into trouble… even if it's not always her fault. Her accidental clumsiness constantly clashes with the strict Ms. Hardbroom, while the antagonist Ethel Hallow and her friend Drusilla seem to live to make her life miserable. Personally, I think Ethel is just plain mean; from the very beginning, she decided Mildred would be her target, and she doesn't need any reason to make her life difficult. (The poor girl already does it for herself.)

The wonderful thing about Mildred is that she's not a bad girl; she simply lacks experience in the magical world. She has no family history in witchcraft, so every failed spell or complicated situation is an opportunity to learn and grow. That makes her endearing and very easy to love.

Among my favorite characters are Ruby Cherrytree and Jadu Wali. Although they don't appear as often as Mildred, their screen time is always funny and adds a special touch to the story. I also adore Miss Cackle, who always gives Mildred second chances and celebrates her achievements, even if she gets into trouble again. Plus, she loves cheese!

And of course, Miss Bat, the most eccentric of them all. Her quirkiness makes her unpredictable, adding a touch of madness to the school.
