People forget Judas is STILL in HELL (THIS IS FOR MY BIBLE STUDY INSERT - THOUGHTS?)

If men knew how graphic eternal separation from God is, how graphic hell is going to be —  which is temporary, because the final place will be the lake of fires, according to revelation 20.

If men knew how graphic it will be and that it is eternal; we would care more about people who are not saved.

Because people are reading their bibles, but the issue is that they aren’t thinking about what they’re reading.  Scripture says after Judas committed suicide, he was the son doomed for predition. So we know that Judas didn't make it to glory.

This happened around AD 33, around the year Christ died. That means Judas would have been there for two millenia.  And he will be there for another two mellenia, and another two millenia and another two. And if we take everything Jesus said, that “the worm doesn’t die,” and “men gnash their teeth in pain.” Chewing their tongue.

That means they are conscious of their suffering, and that they aren’t going to get out. They aren’t going to get out of this place that is separated from God, from His grace, His love, His mercy, His blessing, His glory.

You’ll have a body fit for destruction. You’re in darkness but can feel the fire, and you can’t get out. There is not reprieve, no purgatory, no second chance.

People need to think about how graphic that is in terms of suffering, and then think about how long it’s going to last —  forever.

Now wrap your mind around the graphic nature of everyone who dies separated from God and what that person is going to endure forever. A person who can sit down long enough to think about the nature of that level of sentencing, might start praying for people they know are far from God.

They’ll probably start supporting ministries that are serious about the spread of the gospel telling people about Jesus.

Start praying for the aunts, uncles and parents who they know, don’t know God. Especially when we realize that none of us know when we are going to die. Maybe we live a long life, but you can also be the young 22 year old on his way to church who dies in a motorcycle accident (true story).

The only comfort is that we know where he is, because he was a believer who’d given his life to Christ. But what if he wasn’t, he’d be right next to Judas.

We as believers have assurance, (1john 5:11-12), but those who don’t know the Lord, who don’t follow him, God describe in graphic detail through the Story of Lazarus and the rich man.

A poor man and a rich man both die. One goes to glory and the other one goes to hell. The rich man is watching and cries out from hell for water. And what happens, Abraham says he gets nothing.

The rich man asks that they go warn his family that this place is real. Abraham says no because they have everything they need, they have the prophets, if they don’t want to listen to the prophets in that life, they’ll end up in the same place. The rich man is listening to this, he is conscious that he is not getting out.

More people need to realize that this is the fate of their family members, their friends, people on the job, at the gym, people we say we love. We all need to constantly be thinking about how horrific it’s going to be for people to die apart from Christ.

It’s like jumping out of an airplane with no parachute, imagine what it is going to be like waking up on the other side of death without the righteousness of Christ.

We might just pray a little bit differently, we might labour a little bit differently. Care a little bit different.

Be a little more faithful.

What verse says that about Judas?

Report Comment

Sorry I don't understand the question, are you asking where does it say Judas killed himself? (matthew 27:5)

or are you asking how we know he is in hell? in that case there is no text that says word for word he went to hell. but we do know that he did not repent of his sins instead he let worldly guilt consume him which led him to hang himself over seeking forgiveness.

I would suggest studying the topic it is very interesting. :)

It is indeed. I meant the "son of perdition" being Judas thing.

I think the verse i shared is proof enough of that, and honestly any passage the refers to Judas' betrayal and the after math of that.

I don't think there is only one "son of perdition" there are many that are lawless and fallen. but tbh I don't have in depth knowledge of that specific topic.

You can start with the source of the transcript though :) I enjoyed what they had to say in the segment and believe it to be true, and The scripture of all of Judas' account was not contradicted <3

Also John 17:12 speaks of the "one doomed to destruction" which is a specific reference from Jesus about Judas i believe, so you can check there too.

<3 <3 <3 hope this helps

This verse, Matthew 27:5, says that Judas is the son of perdition?

"and having cast down the silverlings in the sanctuary, he departed, and having gone away, he did strangle himself."

It doesn't say anything about hell, or perdition, or him being the son of anything.

John 17:12 reads:

"when I was with them in the world, I was keeping them in Thy name; those whom Thou hast given to me I did guard, and none of them was destroyed, except the son of the destruction, that the Writing may be fulfilled."

Are you saying that the ones "guarded" were the apostles, with the exception of Judas? What is "the Writing"? Is this saying that for the prophecy to come true, Judas had to be damned? Was Judas predestined for Hell from the beginning?
