lord of the flies

I just finished the lord of the flies on netflix. I never read the books and im not good at analyzing, but i just need to talk about this show.

My favorite character is simon yet when it comes to understanding the characters, the only one I can wrap my head around is roger. Simon is too much of a complex character for me, I understand him to a certain extent but not fully unlike simon.

From what I understand about simon is that his parents fight a lot like physically, I also understand why he acted that way towards jack and ralph. He is also an old soul, he realized that the beast was themselves way before everyone else.

When it comes to roger you can see him and his parents in the sence when they were saying bye to eachother, my guess is they probably spoiled him rotten to the point that they never taught him empathy. When he was throwing the rocks at the kids, he only missed due to the social disapproval of things like bullying (and obviously killing) but without those things, without their humanity he showed his true nature that he could kill without hesitation like he did with nicky and how he showed no remorse for it. When ralph and jack were fighting over who was chief, roger who shows leadership skills wasnt part of that because he didnt care about power he cared about hurting others and that was his only intention the whole time.

Thats pretty much all I got, again im not good at analyzing or good with my words so yeah sorry if this is bad
