there’s three songs I have written the music and lyrics for that I’ve been working on for about a month, I find them beautiful and exciting, I recorded them, threw some flare and embellishments in and listened to them at least1000 times each, but then the last 3 days I thought these sound amazing but there’s maybe too much other stuff going on in them, and it distracts from the song. i know what I like and I know what my style is. 

yesterday I sat down with my guitar and played them for my fiancé, for the first time, she was working on something but stopped and came to sit and listen, and said who is this by?? did you write these? they’re really cool! this made my heart so warm and the creative side of my brain so proud

this past week I’ve re-recorded them a few times between my work shifts, have lost my voice a few times, so I guess I’ll take a break for a bit listen to other things a bit, focus on something else and maybe jump back into it 

i have a dedicated recording space where I currently live but I feel I’ve recently thought the area was kind of boring me? I wasn’t playing or singing with the enthusiasm that I usually have? i moved all my equipment to my living room today and I thought the recordings were better, but again, my voice was not 100% so a waste of time I guess

green apples and tea with honey have been a pretty good remedy for my voice 

my cousin has told me these things take time, it’ll all click when it’s meant to, you wouldn’t be an artist if you didn’t want it to be perfect

my coworker and good friend I work in engineering with used to be in a metal band called soul unhinged, he has been a wealth of knowledge for me as a new artist, I don’t think I would have even known where to start in terms of content production and publishing and releasing if it wasn’t for him, he recommended I walk away from it for a few days, then set up my equipment in my bathroom, and start recording 

i love this idea, after all don’t we all sound our best in the shower? 

im excited to share these with you when they are their best possibly quality 

side note:  one year ago I hadn’t played any live gigs or sent any of the songs I wrote to anyone, my life musically is up by 200%, and I couldn’t be happier, I guess I just have to remember that, it’s all new for me and i am really proud of myself, I’m happy I get to do this for myself, it’s something I’ve always wanted to do since I was a kid
