Why do people like Lana Del Rey?

This question isn't malicious, it's genuine. And I think I'll bring Melanie Martinez into it slightly. People who like Lana Del Rey. Why do they like Lana Del Rey? Because I've been expanding my list of favorite vocalists and bands, and I tried listening to her songs, but...nothing. I don't think being alone is for me.
