Hi, to quickly answer your question, from what I understand, goth is a sociopolitical movement that originated in music. Its aesthetic is inspired by the church (original Gothic was a style used in religious architecture) and shares the same political ideals as punk. Goth seeks romanticism in darkness. If you want to understand the topic better, I recommend watching some gothic films, such as Twilight, Dracula, and Nosferatu. I'm just starting to learn about the subculture, but that's a quick summary I can give. 🖤
