feminism and AI

feminists into AI, i implore you to watch the following lectures;

Ana Roman's Sonic Cyberfeminist Toolkits for Creative Coding

Luciana Parisi's The Negative Aesthetic of AI

Sadie Plant's Seduced & Abandoned: The Body in the Virtual World - The Feminine Cyberspace

here's the sitch; we are drowning in an SEO landfill, bobbing our heads up and down in the stimuli enslaught of an emergent time of cyberculture and its artificial inheritance. whatever comes next will be shaped only by what we do now before the bubble bursts. there has never been a time in history where we have needed so many people to have a goal in their lives and had so few. no matter what happens with AI, it is here to stay. it is an intransigent force that is not going to stop. the moving parts accelerate only further. there will never be more time than there is now.

what matters is the variables we can control; shifting our efforts away from whining/expecting it to cease, and rather placing forward regulations on its capacities. this egregore of an algorithm will act in apparition to us; the weltgeist digitized. it will do what we command it to do.

and despite popular belief, feminism is not mutually exclusive to AI, nor is leftism; in fact, rather, opposing AI is a reactionary and conservative belief, one that allows an emergent tool with so much latent power to be held in the hands of only the most evil billionaires. this is not the world we want to live in. a holier than thou attitude in the face of mass surveillance grey-goo doomsday is not what any leftist should seek, by their own morals.

feminism and positive AI go hand in hand, just as the inherent feminine nature of cyberspace and the internet as a whole does. this technology has more than the capacity to disrupt the patriarchy, dismantle misogyny, and usher in an era of female-glory. but that depends on so much of what we choose to do.
