Maybe not a thing that needs to exist, but I'm here to yap and just share random things (—ᴗ—)
Basically, whenever I see things and inspo for this, it's pretty much always the same: thicken up the pages, duh. But it's the how that's different. As a broke ahh person, I don't have a lot of stuff laying around (e.g. no 3D stickers, no unused CDs). So keeping the core of "thicken up the pages", I am gonna write down some stuff that is helping me. This might or might not get updated, depending on what things I figure out, so, let's get started.
Basics
As said above, the only thing you need to do for a chunky sketchbook is thickening up the pages. What you need for this? A sketchbook (duh), glue (works best for me), scissors (optional), and random things (listed as headlines with further info) (❁´◡`❁)
Receipts
Here, digital receipts are very uncommon, so one thing I do is take the physical ones home and glue them into the sketchbook. They do work well as flippy things, and if you travel abroad, they can also be small souvenirs (e.g. if you went to a store you've never been to before, you went on a date etc. •ᴗ•). Sometimes they are also blue here, so a dash of colour is neat as well. You can also cut them up (if they have a coupon code on them for example) and glue that in as well, or the store logo or whatever ദ്ദി( • ᴗ - ) ✧
Cards
Sometimes, you get a business card from a person, or one is laying around in the office, or you have a different type of card you don't need - great! Great for flippy things and thickening up the pages, as it's an extra layer of paper. Greeting cards also work beautifully, as the back of it is often bland, so great to be glued into a sketchbook. It's also a neat memorabilia, although we sadly often throw those cards away |_・). Otherwise, you can also cut out the text inside them and glue it in, or the front of it or stuff.
Tape
It works amazing for putting in additional flippy things, but also works well to put on the edges. You can put the tape on the edge of drawings or on the paper in general, which can give it a variety of thicknesses and sensory appeals (depending on what tape you use of course, clear thin tape wont do as much as glitter tape for example °ㅁ°)
(Your) Art
If you want to thicken up your sketchbook quick, don't draw in your sketchbook. You can cut out (or rip out) your artwork and glue it into the sketchbook, very good if you use different paper as well. Your sketchbook also isn't supposed to look perfect, so you can glue in any sketches too. If you have (artist) friends, you can also (with their permission) put their art into the sketchbook. Works also for paper commissions, or even your digital art (if you have a printer)!
Stickers
Now, I'm not too big of a fan of stickers, as stickers can get very expensive if bought locally (decently sized sticker sheets are about a fourth to a fifth of min. wage here, ofc amazon and co. are much cheaper but I don't like them for obvious reasons). Sometimes you get them for free at certain events, but I wouldn't personally rely on it. Things such as sale-stickers could also work for a sketchbook, depending on how they still hold on (e.g., in my area, the sale stickers aren't meant to be put on something else after it, so their glue quality is very lackluster and they fall apart as soon as you take them off (¬_¬")). If you have a printer, you could also buy sticker paper and print your own stickers, though.
Random Paper
Yes, random paper. Take a newspaper that mightve ended up in your mailbox, rip it up and glue it in. Take text passages from it and glue them in. Random flyer, adverts? Put it in. Cut out the photos and glue them in. Have some old letters laying around that you don't need? Glue them in. The medical informations inside medicine packages? Put it in. You can use them as flipping things, or as backgrounds. Also don't be scared to put in different colours and paper thicknesses (˶ᵔᗜᵔ˶). You can also try to make cut-out poetry, ransom-style quotes and similar. If you have time and sun at hand, you can also make your own paper and glue it in. Hell, you can put in unused toilet paper if you have a patterned version!
Fabric
One very underrated thing is fabric! I like putting fabric into my sketchbook, though you need extra glue for this. Otherwise, if your sketchbook has the right paper, you could also sew in the fabric. It can be different types of fabric, jeans fabric, thinner fabric, cotton etc.
Tickets
If you go anywhere (even public transport), keep the tickets and glue them in. Can also be memorabilia if you bought a tram ticket in a different city or during a special occasion (0u0). Entry tickets also work well for this, they tend to have cool photos on them here, so you can put them into a sketchbook nicely.
Stamps
If you have them, they work great for sketchbooks too! You can get limited edition stamps as well (or celebratory stamps) and glue them into your sketchbook. Not a lot works via postal services anymore, but if you live somewhere where stamps are used, use them for the sketchbook too.
That's it for now, I spent several hours on this post (*/ω\*)
Reminder, this is what helped me, and that doesn't neccessarily mean it will work for you as well (lots of the things listed above are digital in lots of countries nowadays, for example). Seeya! (•˕ •マ.ᐟ
