Flash Adventures

Borrowed a copy of Flash 8 a while back because there is NO WAY I'm paying for Adobes worse version that crashes every 5 seconds and doesn't make games as well. I'm finally starting to use it after having it sit on my desktop for a while and man I missed animating. I haven't done this since high school!!

I'm wanting to get into making Flash games because contrary to popular belief the medium is still alive and well, on the indie web at least. I've never used actionscript or C- before, so that alone creates a bit of a learning curve. But then all the guides for it are either in like 140p on Youtube channels that haven't been touched since 2008 or they're hosted on defunct websites. I really love this tutorial I found on Newgrounds, and with a bit of trial and error I've been able to make myself a title page! 

This is just a gif, but the actual game has a click sound effect when you hover over the play button, and a pop sound effect when its pressed! Not a whole lot done yet, but I've figured out how to get things to work at least. Next is adding the game itself, which will just be a basic clicker featuring my friends OC so I can get the hang of the medium. Once I'm finished this tester game I'm going to make a little dress-up game featuring Ritsuka from Loveless for a friends zine! Yay!

I haven't made a game in YEARS since I made a few visual novels for game jams so I'm super excited, I think coding is my favourite thing ever and I love getting to do it.
