there is no straight explanation for this, let's start there. let's also start with the fact that i'm literally just gonna be yapping and it might not make any sense at points but who cares lmao
i have seen so many people say that the plot didn't really make sense which i guess i can get even though it made sense to me? it just didn't really seem like the type of show to tell you exactly what's going on because the people making the show think you're just looking at your phone idk. i guess i can understand like towards the end it could have gotten a bit confusing and messy but i ended kind of making sense of that. i interpreted it as yeri obviously exposing jaeyi's father for giving her (jaeyi) the killer problem so that she could ace the CSAT and get into hankuk university. jaeyi wanted to expose her own father especially for what he did to her sister and she (jaeyi) didn't want to be her father's puppet anymore so she faked her suicide even though i'm fairly certain that her father knows she's actually not dead (or at least doesn't believe it) until he actually sees her body for himself. also only a few months in prison for him is wack but i'm not surprise
omg i've also seen people saying that this show was just queerbaiting but idk if i'm just too much of a lesbian to think that it's not queerbaiting at all? maybe they think that because they really only kissed once or they didn't have sex. and to that i have a question. is it queerbaiting because they didn't get together at the end or is it queerbaiting because sex is the only think some people (a lot of people) immediately think of when it comes to any lesbian media? because as an asexual lesbian, i loved everything about the relationship. the yearning absolutely killed me in a good way, and i don't know, but as somebody who's also demiromantic, the slowburn was so nice. also the ball pit episode absolutely sold it for me
like i'm sorry but jaeyi "lying" to seulgi about not actually being her friend throughout the entire show, i feel like was just because jaeyi knows exactly what her father is capable of and wanted to protect her. and the pills actually just being multivitamins?? that had me feeling some typa way, i can't lie. also, seulgi staring at the scar from the surgery that jaeyi performed is deeper than any sex or kiss scene could ever be, argue with the wall idc. jaeyi protected suelgi from bullying, let her stay the night when she couldn't go home, saved her from a set-up arrest, ended seulgi's drug addiction with those damn multivitamins, did her surgery because she didn't trust her dad, saved her from drowing, faked her own death in front of the entire world to protect seulgi. jaeyi saw that her dad had too much information on seulgi and realized she needed to protect her even if it did involve manipulating her to some degree. y'all can say it's queerbaiting all you want, but there's a lot more gl/lesbian relationships than just kissing and sex
and the moment seulgi realized what jaeyi made her hate her and why jaeyi gave away her dog had me in tears bro. even more tears when seulgi got that present of the hankuk university keychain, a picture of jaeyi's location, and new shoes. jaeyi didn't wanna give her new shoes in the beginning because she didn't want her running away from her but now she wants seulgi to run with her?? aiter! wmore yearning please!
also, am i the only who ships yeri and kyung? like ms. rich and her freaky lawyer girlfriend, hell yeah
