i'm not really in the mood to develop my thinking, but i really think nikita is "written in blood". 

both sasha and kostya are "gnaw" for obvious reasons. not to mention they're not related anyhow and yet are together with sasha taking care kostya as a little brother, there is the thing that kostya runs away from home to live with sasha due to problem with his parents. like, no kostya, sasha won't tell your mother ❤︎.
