Here's why I think everyone liked Project Hail Mary: its not a squeal, a live action or a remake. It's something new.
Nowadays, every new film you see is probably a remake, a live action or even a squeal. It seems like there aren't any original ideas or new topics. Every story is so similiar that watching a movie stops being an unic experience where you can't even connect to the characters. Hail Mar changed that. Its a good yet simple history that makes you connect with the characters and their relation, while never loosing the main plot.
I loved Rocky to the point of crying over a rock. I connected with Grace and his fear of messing up or even not being enough. And this isn't the only main reason why i liked it. I liked it for making me feel every sort of emotion while being in a dark room looking at a giant screen. I missed this type of feeling, and I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one.
Overall it's a beautiful combination of a good, simple story, loveable characters, good image, sound and effects and great cast.
P.S.: I know it has a book :)
