Starting a new sport + blue lock????

Ive been playing basketball with my dad lately, I’ve always wanted to try for the team at my high school, but I’m way too cowardly and think too low of myself to commit myself to something I wanna do badly….

It’s hard to find places in my community, especially being such a small town, where I can practice just being a beginner. But I’m managing fine now. I shoot hoops every weekend with my dad.

Im advancing faster than I predicted, but maybe that’s just because I set the bar so low for myself (LOL). I’m doing good…second day and I’ve already nearly beat my dad in horse, and can consistently shoot from the top of the key. However, my ball controls still SUUUUPER mega SHIIIT when I’m actually playing…

I’m working on it for now, trying my hardest to get better at moving in confined situations with the ball. I think I really underestimated how hard it was. 

I think after that, I’m gonna work on my scissor dribbling. I saw a video on it, and it looks cool and I’d like to try it out. I still don’t know what position I’d play….maybe a point guard or something. I’m not great on defense.

I’m trying, and I’m honestly pretty happy I’m getting back into physical activities. As corny as it sounds, I think reading blue lock of all things has really reminded me why I love sports so much. 

I’ve grown really fond of Yukimiya after my friend introduced me to the series, he’s going blind, just like me in my right eye. I really felt it during his backstory, when he was talking about how scared he was to loose his vision, and his dream. honestly, I saw myself in a lot of his story. I feel like I can relate a lot to him, and I think it’s really motivating me to keep going….if he can do it, so can I. I think people really underestimate how wonderful it is to find a character just like you.

I hope to get better in the future, and next year I’ll make the basketball team!
