Mom was right, you gotta get off that phone.

ALRIGHT lemme just voice a few of my opinions (because I have free will and a voice)

I genuinely think people gotta put down their phones now and then.

Low attention spans of the people around me has been ticking me off quite a lot. Like wdym a Wii remote loading screen is getting bro ticked off??? And scroll farming or whatever during an ad break!? Idk close your eyes? TALK TO THE PEOPLE YOUR HANGING OUT WITH!!!!

Pardon my ranting but this is coming from frustrations of the past YEARS of my interactions with people.

I dearly love hanging out with a lot of friends, and getting to know people my age, but lately its just been roadbumps. I've heard the word "larp" like a million times in the span of 2 hours. Basically short form content has been melting peoples brains I cannot take it. I feel like because I prefer to do things other than scroll for hours I can't relate to that humor or tolerate the behaviors and habits that come with it. (like low patience, attention, higher frustration, etc). I feel annoyed with people and I really don't want to be, I want to enjoy the company of others but I feel like I can't because so many people are just so brainrotted.

my mom is right too, and it is why im on spacehey now pretty much, short form content is appearing everywhere and is coming to stay bc modern social media is built around getting you as hooked as possible. they fry our dopamine sensors by short little hits, its messed uuupp.

with adhd it basically destroyed by teen years, i hope others wake up as well and get tired of watching junk all day

Agreed, I've been switching to web building, forums, and here as well. IKR ITS SO MESSED UP, LITERALLY TRAINING PEOPLE TO HAVE LOW ATTENTION SPANS AND ADDICTIONS!!

I worry for my siblings and a lot of my friends I can tell when they've been on too long because of their behaviors and "humor".

and it's not just that. our pedagogy prof told us screens are an actual factor for autism in kids, and probably not just autism. besides, as someone who doesn't use tiktok very often, it's crazy to see how obvious it is that teens (and people in general) seem to form their opinions based on what's trending on tiktok in a certain moment rather than having their own ideologies.

I agree, when I was a lot younger I realized I was often adopting whatever opinions I saw on the internet (whether or not it was actually back up by real evidence) and thankfully I put a stop to that tendency. But not a lot of young kids think about that and the internet is RIDDEN with false information and extreme ideals.
