˚₊‧꒰ა my first convention! ໒꒱‧₊˚

i've always gotten pictures and texts from my girlfriend about cons she went to, and they always seemed so cool and exciting (plus she looked AMAZING!!! ^3^) so it's been on my bucket list for a while to go to a con while cosplaying! a few weeks ago, my brother told me about an event held by the local community college, and it was a con packed with fun panels, activities, and, of course, vendors. today, i actually got to go and despite it being a smaller scale event due to it being local i still had a lot of fun! there was a doodle board FILLED with my fandoms and it made me super happy! here's the board, plus a few drawings me and my brother added

there were also various activities at different times, and my brother participated in one of them! it was a game where you recieve some misinformation about a topic and have to correct it. there would be flash rounds and special rounds. one of the special rounds was one where you take turns naming pokemon until you repeat one or can't think of any, and my brother won! he didn't get any prizes, but it was still fun to watch. after that, we went to some of the vendors and bought some things! this is the stuff i got, all of the stickers besides the gangle one were freebies

after all of that, at the very end, there was a cosplay contest! i was excited because i was in cosplay (i was dressed as tweek). i didn't sign up because i was too scared, but my brother did. he "dressed up" as tom wachowski, and by dressed up, i mean he made it up on the spot by changing his outfit slightly and adjusting his sonic bag. he was really good on stage, people loved his performance and laughed at the jokes. he got a good round of applause there, even if he didn't win anything or get an honorable mention. overall, i think that day was something really special, and i'll cherish it forever. i'll definitely be going to all the future cons, since they hold one yearly.
