Welcome all to another piece of virtual paper with words on it. If some of y’all would know(probably not all), but I have been taking a break from watching Doctor Who since its a long show and a lot of things to remember, and honestly the thought of watching it again it fun and all but I just need a break from watching all of the adventures that the Doctor has. As for my next hyper fixation, it was a bit unexpected but I had a feeling it was going to come back at some point in my life.
For a while I have been a big fan of the Indiana Jones movies and that’s still the case with me today. They're good movies and full of more adventures that would seem a bit more grounded? Well I wouldn’t say it's grounded, but it has my interest in history even though those movies aren’t exactly historically accurate, I still like the idea of a guy finding all these ancient artifacts as he tries to beat his competitors to it. And after watching the trilogy again, I did feel satisfied but it felt like I needed more than just the 3 movies. Of course there are the 2 other squeals, but like, we don’t talk about them…
However, just one night after watching some youtube one day, a video came up on my recommendation and it was a memory core that was unlocked and that was when I decided to watch it all. It was The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles. I remember the show, it was mostly because I actually have one of the episodes on VHS from a long time ago but it was just that one episode and I actually never thought about seeing the rest of the show. Out of my own curiosity, I decided that was going to be the next show I was going to watch and finish and I had ventured out to seek out the show.
There always is the usual streaming services, but after doing the research I felt pain paying how much I paid just to get the DVDs copies. How much did I pay for the series on DVD? One….hundred and sixty two dollars.. Honestly, it was kinda worth it, seeing how rare the volumes are, especially the 2nd volume. Since most of the DVD and I’m guessing the 2nd volume of Young Indy is out of print, that would explain the high price on it own, and seeing volume 1 and 3 on how reasonably priced they are, I would saying it would be better to get the European release instead of the American one, but it was all sold out so I had to cut my losses and just pay the 162 dollars. Still pisses me off since I found out that someone UPLOADED THE ENTIRE SHOW ON YOUTUBE! FOR FREE! But that was way after I had gotten the DVDs in my possession.

(Not my photos but you get the idea)
But what do I think of the show? Well for one the DVDs are pretty bulky for a 2 season show. Honestly I thought it was 3 seasons, but after doing the research, that wasn’t the case, there was supposed to be a 3rd season but sadly it was canceled back in 1993. But the show it's actually not that bad of a show. This show was supposed to be slightly educational, as it goes through Indiana Jones for when he was a kid all the way until he was a young adult during the early 1900s until 1920.
Though the show is directed by George Lucas so you can expect some inaccuracies during the show, but then again when was any historical show/movies 100% accurate(Please don't answer this question, I wanna feel smart about this :P)
And sadly if you do know the reputation that George Lucas has with his movies. Editing and removing scenes from his movies, this is no different. Even Indiana Jones wasn’t safe from that. During the original broadcasting, there was supposed to be an old man Indy living with his daughter and grandson, and old man Indy was supposed to be a story teller telling the events of the episode. But the only reason why George Lucas removed old man Indy from the show was because of the 4th movie, Indiana Jones and Kingdom of the crystal skull, which after seeing both the show and the 4th movie, there would of been some inconsistency in the lore, so I guess it makes sense, but crystal skull deserve its own blog.

The only way you would be able to see old man Indy is to find the original broadcasting or youtube and just watch the old man Indy scenes and then watch the episodes afterwards.
But even if the show is educational it definitely sparked my interest in learning more about the events that show covers, which brings me to my favorite episodes.
My Top 5 from least to best would of been
5. Trenches of Hell 1916 and Love's sweet song 1916
4. Spring Break Adventure 1916
3. Treasure of the Peacock's Eye 1919 (This is the episode I had on VHS a long time ago)
2. Adventures in the Secret Service 1917
1. Mystery of the Blues 1920
I would say these are my favorite episodes from the show and number 1 being my all time favorite. For one Mystery of the blues is possibly the most popular episode for just one reason. They actually got the original actor for Indiana Jones to also star in the episode, though he was barely in the episode, I still enjoyed the episode. Talking about Jazz, the Blues and a bit of murder mystery(spoilers) so it's kinda like the Blink episode from Doctor Who 10th was barely in the episode but it had good story telling.

There are a few things I wish the show did, like for one keeping old man Indy, with the DVDs it does have special features, so George Lucas could of saved old man Indy and put him in the deleted scene section but I guess we didn’t get enough documentaries in the DVDs, which is fine but I still wished they saved him. Another thing I wish was if Harrison Ford(the original actor for Indy)could of narrated Indy and his adventures, it would of been cool, if Ford was able to narrate in the original Blade Runner then he could of done this too
But if you don’t mind the education part of the show then I would say give the show a chance, it should be uploaded on youtube, its like literally someone ripped the DVDs and put them up on youtube, which is what you're going to get. It is on amazon prime too but you have to pay for the episodes which is kinda annoying.
But my overall ratings of the show would be an 8/10. Just for the fact that I do like history and liked doing the research on the side, it made me love the show. It's a piece of Indiana Jones history that I hope it doesn’t get forgotten for too long.
Thank you for reading! :D
