on sunday afternoon the trees wore the sun. my friend wore her betrothed sitting up the mountain with me. we sat outside a little chapel and the blowing of the wind mimicked the breath of God. He gifted us yellow birds and a black one, tiny butterflies, and flowers bearing fruit. our furry friend, a not-so-little canine, kept sticking his face to ours. oh how Christ must've loved it. we had a nylon guitar we didn't really use, and it rested itself on my skirt. the angels must've sung whenever the women in a distant house burst out in laughter and joy. only God could've called us there. I don't have a picture to immortalize the moment, but my kind and beautiful God gifted me with words—and so I write, to relive the moment twice, and relive it again much further in time.

oh, sophia ᰔ you may not feel like the prettiest flower on a bush, but every flower grew different and distinct as you have kindly pointed out on our early morning walk. that's how my eyes paint you. utterly irreplaceable. I think it's beautiful that you're the only you, with your own quirks and intellect and heart. at the end of the day your littleness catches the gaze of many. I could sense their hearts beguiled by your kindness. you make the bush beautiful. you make the earth beautiful. I love you, and He loves you so.

your life will change very soon, perhaps. with a ring tied between your souls. I must be here to pray with you through every season of it. perhaps we belong in a different bush, or I'm a flower of a single stem. nevertheless, we're both from the earth—we come from the same source. God will feed you and I, and we will grow to touch Jesus, the pinnacle of heaven. Must we lose heart to aspire to sainthood? look to Him! the torrent of love flowing from His five wounds. let us wear His mercy daily. His tears our water, His light our sun, we shall then reach our finality with Him in heaven for all eternity! 🤍
