ao3 has some serious csam issue

 Is it just me, or am I the only one who finds it so crazy that as soon as you bring up the topic that AO3 has a serious CSAM issue, people attack you? Their response is always the same shit too. "It's an archive!" "Don't like, don't read." "Newgen."

 Oh, how I hate the "Don't like, don't read" argument. I would usually agree with takes like this, but people now use "Don't like, don't read" as an excuse to publish their illegal, disgusting fetishes, and when you call them out for it, it's the same shit they repeat.

 My problem is people writing these non-con, grooming dynamic fanfics not to show how these types of stations affect the victim's life, how it has consequences for it, and to spread awareness about the victims' experiences, but because of this is literally what they're into.

 Not to mention, we can't just brush it away and say "It's not real, it's just words on screen," because you guys are forgetting that most of the offenders are non-offenders at first. What do you guys think was fueling these offenders to commit such crimes? That's right, communities and fictional materials that romanticize and normalize these types of things. Not to mention, do you guys not think about how many teenagers may have been affected by the fanfics about grooming, thinking that the person taking advantage of them is romantic, just like the fanfic they have been consuming? thinking their life's would just be like the fanfics they read? 

 Also, "separating reality from fiction" is easier said than done. Many children and really teenagers (even some adults) don't have the capacity to separate fiction from reality because of how much they have consumed that fiction material.

 Oh yeah, and you're telling me AO3 mods won't delete fanfics where an underage character is getting brutally assaulted, but they will remove fanfics with #fuckice and #freePalestine ? They know what exactly they're doing, and this is the type of community AO3 mods want. They want teenagers and predators to consume and be exposed to non-con, csam, and grooming materials.
