coffee-stained thoughts

one of the books i'm reading rn pointed out that "life" is essentially a revolving door; in the sense that things come and go. the character was talking about how it's easy to let everything go (people, places, items) because, everything's "revolving" - ergo - everything in your life, no matter what if you let enough time pass; isn't permanent. i think it's more comforting than depressing, actually.
"everything I've ever let go of has had bloody nail marks in it afterwards." said some poet. but maybe not anymore. maybe we just leave it on the other side of the door.
