it's time we stop using spotify for good honestly. i'm so tired of basically renting my own music and artists barely getting paid anything for their streams. and also, when a record label will, for example, randomly change or delete one of the songs you are paying to hear. physical media is so much better, because once you buy an album on CD or vinyl or even on iTunes, now that you have purchased it, it's YOURS! YOU own it and NO ONE can just reach in and change your music :D about 7 months ago, i cancelled my spotify and switched to an iPod video 5th gen which i later modded, and I LOVE IT but it has some annoying hardware issues rn, so i bought a 2nd gen iPod touch off eBay a few days ago. i've been trying to accumulate a CD collection, i don't have many but i'm hoping to get a lot more in the future.
physical media is superior, cancel your spotify subscription

It's sad that a lot of smaller artists rely on Spotify for income, as little as they pay it is what they have. That's the only reason I still have Spotify, if the artist doesn't have digital or physical versions of their music for sale directly through another website, I choose to still listen to them there.
Other than that, I prefer CDs and I miss my old mp3, I'll probably get myself another one at some point.

Are you familiar with soulseek? Not exactly physical media but having your own digital copy of a song is better then renting out a play on Spotify.
yes i have heard of soulseek a lot, but personally i use monochrome.tf. its a website where you just search for whatever song, album, artist, etc. that you want and you can stream it for free (not it's main function but it works) and download it in whatever file type (ogg, mp3, wav, aac, m4a, and even flac) and bitrate you want :) it works great for me!
