So I bought an Xbox back in December and it was sold to me as "working" which it did, granted for approx 15 minutes, before it died on me. I had spent the entirety of January and $300 to repair it. I first thought it was my clock capacitor, so I pulled that, soldered in a new one, found out it wasn't that, bought a new motherboard, that wasn't the issue. After that I tried replacing the power supply and that did bring the console back to life, but the disc drive was dead. I wanted to replace the laser on it but it was far to out of my wheelhouse so I instead opted for a replacement drive, so far, it works, but fails at a specific level of halo 2. Fortunately I've completed Halo 2 on Legendary on my 360 and so I didn't fret over that. I did a complete play through of Halo Combat Evolved though and so I feel pretty happy with it. It's like as if I shell swapped the console as the only thing that remains of the old is the shell and controller ports. I did learn a lot though when undergoing this procedure. Lots about soldering and how to find things with a multi meter. Good stuff. I'll have talk about my 3Ds modding in a separate post as i think that's beyond the scope of this blog post

well thats cool you were able to get it working again even if it's kinda a ship of theseus now lol

personally I have a 360 that works like a dream but my ps3 got the ylod and killed itself
Something i like to say is: the ship os theseus is the ship of theseus because theseus owns the ship. Not because of the ship parts
