preparing precalculus again (update)

so here’s the update…

i passed the practical part, but everything else kinda fell apart. didn’t make it through the theoretical or the oral. it sucks, not gonna lie. especially knowing i was already over 50% there.

and now i don’t even know if i’m going back to engineering after this.

i’m in my first year of bioinformatics now, dealing with algebra and general + inorganic chemistry… and yeah, not gonna pretend it’s easy. i didn’t really have much linear algebra before, so matrices and vectors feel like a different language sometimes.

meanwhile in lab we’re doing physics… vectors with sine and cosine, vertical motion… it’s not even that hard, it just feels strange seeing all these formulas for the first time. guess i’ll survive with flashcards and caffeine.

we’re also getting into microbiology and parasitology, and i have my first practices in june. my hands shake sometimes… like, it’s a physical thing, i don’t even know why. some professors notice it when i’m just holding a piece of paper. it’s a bit embarrassing, not gonna lie. but i read that your pulse gets steadier with practice, so i’m holding onto that.

it’s all kinda weird. this university feels way more theoretical, especially in chemistry… nuclear fission, fusion, electron stuff i didn’t even know existed before. my old engineering program was way more practical, even in lab. like actually doing things instead of just reading about them.

but i won’t lie… some of this theory hits different. there’s something cool about understanding what’s happening at that level, even if it makes my brain hurt a little.

i just hope i can keep my grades up in the lab institute… maybe get a diploma or something. idk.

we go again… i guess.
