I've noticed that people who are chronically online really love the false dichotomy fallacy "Why are you wasting time talking about this issue when there's this other, worse issue!" as if people can't care about multiple things.
Then there's just straight up making people up "Antis care more about fictional kids than real ones!" Who are these imaginary people that are outraged at fiction but don't care about reality?
There's also the "I got bullied for this [ultra niche thing] and now that it's trending, everyone likes it!" and then the ultra niche thing isn't trending outside of a specific corner of TikTok. Like I promise you that the same people who bullied you for being weird aren't into menhera-kei all of a sudden.
I think in general people who are chronically online don't have any idea what's actually trending in reality or how people in reality actually act. Many of them view themselves as "above" the "normies" and think it's a flex to not be in touch with what's going on in real life.
the fine line is those that cant distinguish reality from online and shit. theres alot of true things online, but if whats online is your only truth, there you have it. my opinion though.
