☆ updating my tumblr themes!

hi there!

after a long time, i've decided to finally update my tumblr themes. my web graphics blog was severely neglected- in fact, it took me so long to update it, that i lost interest in Haruhi AND regained interest in it within that time span! sheesh. anyway, it's been about... i'd have to say, 3 years since I last touched my theme on this blog? so, i'm happy i finally got around to it. thankfully, since i've been getting into anime again, i didn't need to do a complete overhaul of the aesthetic.

here it is! not much changed from the old version, but you'll just have to take my word for it since I didn't screenshot it before editing, hahaha. here's the link to the theme I used! i tend to only use themes from this creator because they're the ones that appeal to me the most.

i mostly updated the colors, which were honestly so... so wrong lmao. like, i can tell I modified this when i was barely about to start my design degree. there was no harmony! in any case, now it's got a nice, coherent pink and purple color palette~ also, the Kanon background art! gahhhh! i love it. ( ◡‿◡ *)

there's a new song here as well. it used to be a pokemon track, but i decided to replace it with a song from the Kanon OST instead. (sidenote: give that OST a listen if you have the time! it's so pleasant and relaxing, i love listening to it while I work!). the Haruhi floaties are intact, in the same place as they were 3 years ago. I admit it, part of my heart still belongs to Koizumi and Kyon... speaking of, I should really pick Haruhi back up again sometime soon. i never completed it because i moved for college righttt when i was getting into it. i'm also super scatterbrained, so i often forget to finish series. i'm trying to fix that, though!

okay, moving on to my main's theme!

i'll admit, the theme is a bit at odds with the content of the blog. my main blog is really a central aesthetic blog, where i mostly reblog photos of my fav musicians, TV shows, bands, artists, and anything in between. there's also a couple of shitposts littered around the place. i tend to consolidate anime stuff into my web graphics blog and my fanart reblog blog (is the word blog starting to sound weird to you, too?). but eh, i'm not too worried about that discrepancy. i love how this one came out!

Alpha fits in perfectly with the Ghibli background, and i love how all the graphics look together on the side... especially the Kiyoteru plushie. he's so cute!!! i wish i had him in real life, but i have no idea where i'd even find him, hahaha. also, isnt that banner great? found it on a 90's web graphics archive, dunno what the context is, but i needed it desperately on there. anyway, even if the decor doesn't match the content exactly, i don't think it's completely unfitting. i'm soooo happy with it!

i'll probably go back in and add some floaties later on. i'm kinda addicted to the things, hahaha. i used to love littering my pages with them, but i've toned it down in recent years. still, part of me can't help but think "hmm, it's missing an anime character PNG" whenever i see an empty space on a blog of mine. ah, we'll see.

well, that's just about it! i hope you think it looks nice as well! i'm so happy with the color palettes over anything else, though the use of graphics certainly made me happy too. it was also fun touching up my old sideblog's theme- i'd neglected it for the longest time, but being able to clean it up made me remember a time when i was also beginning to go through another anime phase. can you tell i tend to leave and revisit stuff often? haha! though, i'm really happy to get back into anime again. i kinda forgot how much i appreciate the medium, even if I'm aware of some of it's faults and shortcomings. more than anything, i'm desperate to explore series i'd never heard of before. i'm trying to watch a lot of stuff, so who knows, i might even write up a review or two here! (if i have anything interesting to say, that is...)
