Music Dump (uh-oh)

I have no one to talk to about music.Β

Here's an obnoxiously long, poorly formatted, lazily rendered, terribly curated list of shit I've been obsessed with as of late. :)Β

None of these are in any particular order.

KXLU Session - Train Breaks DownΒ

This album rocks.Β Β just feels alive. Super raw, a little busted up, intimate in that accidental way. It sounds like being let in on something you weren't supposed to see. Way more my kind of thing than anything too polished. Big fan of the math-rock melody over post-hardcore vocals. I don't know how to describe their sound besidesΒ chaotic emo skramzΒ orΒ Β melodic screamo with a college-radio basement feel.

Last Spash - The Breeders

Sloppy in the right places, catchy as hell, strange without losing the hook. It has that dusty, detached, summer-gone-wrong kind of charm that makes it ridiculously easy to come back to.Β grungy, hooky 90s alt rock with a scrappy indie vibe.

Petunia - Tonstartssbandht

Β It’s fuzzy, repetitive, loose, kind of hypnotic. Like it was made by people who actually trust a song to wander around and find its own shape. Super warm, super strange, really easy to sink into.Β A sunburnt, psych-folk-indie kind of record with kraut-y repetition and a hazy lo-fi sprawl.

Jode - Jode

sounds like somebody making exactly what they wanted to make.Β folk rock / pop rock, with a soft early-70s psych touch.

Any Way That You Want Me - Evie Sands

Ugh, I LOVE THIS ALBUM?Β Β Evie has such an enchanting voice,Β and the production quality of these songs are insane. Sensational atmosphere and immediately recognizable sound. ugh. ugh. never getting over her.Β It’s so full-on, so pleading, so committed. feels huge without trying to be huge.Β Mostly pop-soul / blue-eyed soul, with some soft pop and folk-pop in the mix.Β

Massive Shoe - Way DynamicΒ

Quiet. Thoughtful. Comforting.Β

(shit, I'm getting too lazy to write out the descriptions... Just give them a listen and decide what you think for yourself I guess)

The Mirror - Buck MeekΒ

I am generally a huge Buck Meek fan. This is his newest album and I've been pretty attached to it since it came out. Some folks aren't a fan of his voice, but I sincerely believe that it adds an element of delicacy to his subjects. Whatever! Folk/Folk indie?

Poetry - DehdΒ

Dehd always comes through with some crazy, loud, vivacious and borderline slop-sounding pop vibrancy. You either love them or you don't. The girls that get it, get it.Β

Walkin' My Cat Named Dog - Norma TanegaΒ

Objectively a phenomenal guitarist and genius lyricist. I adore Norma Tanega for so many reasons, and this album is twelve of them. Folk.Β

Here are some individual songs that I have been consistently revisiting!Β

That's pretty much it for now.Β

AWWW SHIEEET TY!!! I'm sure there's gonna be something in here that you'll dig when you give these a play :)) And honestly I'm all over the place in terms of genres, i think i mostly gravitate toward guitar-y stuff that feels emotional, melodic, and a little rough around the edges. a lot of indie, emo-ish stuff, slower intimate music, folk (A LOT OF FOLK), 60's-70's pop/rock, and bands that feel kind of specific or underrated. And I don't really orbit around any specific artist either, more-so go through phases of obsession T T . But I have consistently been a Nick Drake enjoyer for quite some time now! WBU? I'd love a couple of recs myself if you have any :> have a great day!
