not dev log 3 (more like yap log)

hey hi im back on making my dumb cafe game again, this time i decided to remake it cus the first one was kinda broken and also a mess. this time it's a whole ass town because it just feels weird to have a cafe with nothing else around it

i decided to put my not dev logs into the art category since it's more drawings than game stuff. and the games itself are really just showcases, there's no gameplay to it at all lol

so starting off, i renamed it to Mrs. Q's Cafe. it's no longer untitled cafe now.

i actually don't have any screenshots in hand rn, but i just copy pasted the old one into here with some little adjustments. these menu boards are a new addition.

i also readded the npcs into the cafe. i still need to figure out how to get them to have text boxes, the roblox dialogue system is very broken and replies don't work anymore. these are just little bits of dialogue i added for fun

wirly is like my wittle baby so everyone needs to have the same sentiment as mine. everyone bully wirly NOW!!!!!!

this is a new building! it looks ugly outside for now, but this will be the little hotel beside the cafe. so a little world building here-

the small town of RoTownsville is kind of like an undocumented town, no one really knows its existence and those who live here are either people who were lost and found their way here by accident, or people who ran away to start a new life (or running from the government, like many residents here are lol)

so because most of the people here simply got here by accident, they have this hotel to accommodate them. though its very rare to even have new people here, i just built it because i can. a lot of things here dont make sense i just have it because i want to.

this is the hotel receptionist! i'm pretty proud of this one. 

the other side of the desk

this is one of the hotel rooms, occupied by KC. i dont remember if i have introduced him yet, but he is a recent arrival. i dont have good screenshots of him at the moment but i have some doodles of him which i will put at the end of this blog

on the other side of the cafe, we have the grocery store. this one is my probably my most favourite building, but it's non functional,.. other than the little home on the second floor, but i made it a little too small.

this one is the thrift store ran by Grayson (my sister's oc!). originally this was just a clothing store, but all the random clothing styles and hats made it more of a thrift store vibe than a just clothing store. and i think it would make more sense given this town only has like less than 50 residents, i dont think they have the money to run a whole clothing store. (where does all the donation come from then? i dont know.. maybe they were shipped here...)

speaking of shipping, i have a post office too. i also have this postal guy who drives out of town to deliver supplies here. since this town is undocumented and wants to keep it that way, this postal office is a private service. Sunday the delivery guy (also another sister's oc) is one of the most respectable residents here.

last thing im gonna show is the clinic/pharmacy. nothing much to say about this, it's just a clinic. ran by the lovely Polina. (its my oc this time lol) my sister said it might be a little unnecessary to have a whole clinic and doctor in this middle of nowhere town, but i have my excuses. this town is full of idiots. many arrive here injured as well (that's what happened to KC and Wirly). Poli came to this town on her own accord, she just happens to be a somewhat qualified doctor and this town desperately needs one.

alright that's all the screenshots i have so far. i think i did go a little far with building functional buildings for every establishment for a cafe game, but it was fun..,, anything for my ocs, i guess lol

TIME FOR THE DRAWINGS ! 

these two are my sister's ocs, Aegean on the left and Sunday on the right. drew them entirely with the lasso tool, my beloved. if you cant tell, Sunday was the delivery guy i talked about earlier and Aegean is just a resident here. i think she does the landscaping here? not sure if that's her job or a gardening hobby i'll have to ask my sister. 

some doodles of doctor Polina. she's tired of everyone's shit, especially Wirly because i need everyone to hate him1!!!! (it's justified though. Wirly had these regenerative powers which allows them to heal quickly and isn't used to lasting physical pain and stuff. they have no idea why people need to rest after breaking an entire limb.)

cheebs of some of the residents i "rarely" draw. emphasize on the rarely because i very much draw Wirly everyday just not his present day/cafe appearance lol. and i realize i have too many pink characters. and a little intro to each character you say? well don't mind if i do...........................

Squid is another sister oc. i am so obsessed with adding as many characters as i can into this stupid town that i had to make my sisters mass produce ocs for me. Squid is an alien from outer space and wants to get to know the people of.... earth? robloxia? idk man. should've landed somewhere in new york instead

present day Wirly is just emo Wirly (not really i just call her emo Wirly because of the black hair lolol) she kinda crash landed into rotownsville while flying away from something, broke their wing and glasses and is staying at the hotel at the moment. also i have no idea why they have black hair now. it's supposed to be the remnants of Wirly's old design that i wanted to keep but i dont really have a believable explanation for now. his hair is naturally pink.

SkySword is a character i haven't touched on for a while. they're the self-acclaimed "protector" of the town. nothing much has changed since the last time i introduced them other than the outfit design and sword powers. their sword has the ability to give the wielder some kind of force field and cast them to other people/objects too. without the sword Sky doesn't have any powers but can still beat you in a fist fight. 

Skip, oh Skippy.... well a lot has changed for her! she's no longer fishing as a job since there's no demand for it and there's no large bodies of water here in this town. her current job is helping out at the grocery store since the owner is sick. i changed her backstory too, but i'll talk about that later since it's a bit heavy.

myrtle is the hotel receptionist. that was the first name my sister suggested when naming him, at the time i didn't know it was an old lady name but it kinda fits him for some reason so i kept it. he's always sleeping on the job.

Mandi is the child of the grocery store owner. this 10 year old is currently the boss since her dad is sick and bedridden. she's a newish character, there's much to her yet.

KC is one of the guys staying at the hotel. you'll probably find him hiding in random places like under tables or closets and talks about people wanting to hunt him down. no one believes him other than Mrs. Q, since she also has connections to those "people" KC talks about.

Blane + Madge also my sisters oc. they haven't changed much other than slight outfit changes. they work for the cafe, Blane being the barista and Madge the cashier/server

yes i DO have more drawings. its been months since i've posted and i will not be shut up. reworking Mrs. Q backstory lore ehe..... have i talked about her family? i dont remember. she does have a wife and kid, Essie and Roro (haha get it? Mrs Q, Roro, Essie)

now that everyone's been introduced, i put everyone's name into a spinny wheel and had 3 random guys interact with each other. incase my handwriting is illegible:
