Why did apple get rid of the wired earphone plug in your phone

Why? Apple? Why? Why do you do this me? 

This is probably another rant about trend and how trying to be yourself is super difficult, but I STILL WANNA COMPLAIN.

I personally prefer using earphones, wired earphones. Headphones that cover my ears make me feel greasy and overstimulated, earphones without wires make me assume I'll lose it immediately because I've definitely done that before, so wired earphones are perfect for me (and I hate that they've become a trend among people for aesthetic purposes cause I hate feeling like a poser, I wanna be myself). But I've got a more modern phone.... Why is there no butt for my earphones to plug into. This is torture. And now here comes the other problem, the adaptor you get to plug it into your phone. Every adaptor I've ever gotten; DOESN'T WORK. My sister bought me one TODAY and it DOESN'T WORK, it literally made a sudden shriek noise in my ears and it hurt so bad. My earphones work fine with my laptop so it's not the earphones, IT'S THE DARN ADAPTOR. Maybe it's my phone or something??? But I know DAMN WELL I wouldn't be having this problem if they just HAD THE DANG PLUG TO INSERT IT INTO ALREADY!!!!!
