Art Insecurity and posting on social media

I know a lot of us know what art Insecurity is, when you draw and draw and when you go to post it all you can think of is how "bad" it is compared to others or how easily beginner artist or any artist with even a little variety is claimed as part of that stupid "art lore" that tik tok made up.

It's so annoying how artists on the internet, and I mean artist as anyone who draws, are harassed online either for the way they draw and are made fun of because of a stylistic choice or because they might not have perfect anatomy. And if it's not that it's sadly being accused of using ai, and God knows what that does to an artist's confidence and reputation. It's sad how many artists I've already seen accused of using ai (when they do not) and a lot of people taking it as gospel and shun and hate on them.

And if it's not that, it's more than likely because they're scared they won't get any traction on their post or if it does it'll only be negative. Social media has taken over so many activities and hobbies that are supposed to be just fun for a lot of people, and made it a competition where a lot of the time artist feel pressure to post everyday or every other day of the week, and it causes them severe burn out.

There's only a couple of places where artist can truly strive on socials, and they're plagued with ai systems and people who use it, meaning Twitter and Insta, these platforms were essentially grown by artist and are perfect for basic scrolling content, but it's been taken over more and more by damn Grok or whatever else type of ai programs. Sure people blow up on Tik Tok, but it's also one of the most toxic platforms to grow on, so many artist have been run off the platform.

Platforms like this give me a little hope for artist, I've seen so much amazing art on here, and I'm so glad to see just how many people are growing their own art accounts on here or other platforms where they can be comfortable and make their own way, instead of having to rely on a faulty social media platform.

When it comes to actually making that space the best places I have seen are Tumblr (especially for fandom), Discord, and I've been seeing more and more beginner artists make their own yt channels!
