Is your hair frizzy after straightening it? Well, I'm here to give you tips either way!! (DISCLAIMER: All hair types are different and behave differently, whatever works best for me may not work for you and that's okay!) Keep in mind, I have somewhat thick wavy and slightly curly hair, I was the kid in school with God awful frizzy hair, so I'd say I know my facts. 𝜗ৎ

Tip One:
You may have heard this before but that's because it works! Sectioning hair to help straighten it was super helpful for me because not only does it make straightening hair easier, but it also makes everything a lot less frizzy. For example, when sections are way too thick, the heat from the straightener doesn't reach the inner strands --> and if you're like the old me, that just makes me straighten it over and over causing more damage! You may be asking, "Angie, I don't know how to section my hair," and my response to that is, "I don't know how to section your hair either, I just know how I section mines." So, here's how I section my hair!
How Do I Section My Hair?
If you have bangs or a sidepart and face framing pieces like me, I'd say just part your bangs/sidepart with your face framing pieces and tie the rest of your hair up. Then you can take small pieces of your hair from that section and start straightening. After that, I pretty much just section my hair by my layers and go from there. If you need alternatives, you could section your hair by parting it into a side part starting from the VERY far right of your hair then parting it again a little more to the left after you're done, just continue that until you've straightened your full head.
How should I Blow Dry My Hair?
A big part of making sure your hair isn't frizzy is making sure that your hair is completely dry before straightening it!! When I blow dry my hair after showering in the morning make I sure to use heat. Now, that probably seems like it doesn't matter but it definitely does after I tell you that we are NOT done with the blow dryer even after drying our hair. Why? It's because after every section, I like to blow dry my hair with cool air because it reduces the chance of it frizzing up immediately after I style it! Not only that, but it also makes the hairstyle last slightly longer. Using cool air after every section genuinely helped me a LOT. (Tip: No rough drying, be sure that you're only blowing your hair down or in the direction you want your hair to fall.)
What Products Do I use?
The products I like to use would be:
John Frieda Frizz Ease Touch-Up Creme: TEENY TINY (like half a pea) bit of cream on your ends after blow drying but before you begin straightening, make sure to rub it in evenly throughout your ends and keep it away from your scalp!
John Frieda Frizz Ease Moisture Barrier Hairspray: Use this after you finish straightening everything, hold the can 8-10 inches away from your hair. I like to use this mainly on my mid-lengths through ends. I'd say try to spray it only for 2-3 seconds per section.
Bio Keratin Luxury Collection Heat Shield Protection Mist: I use this heat protectant before I straighten my hair but after I blow dry it, I focus on all parts of my hair, and you can basically just spray it as many times as you want.
Random Thing to Be Wary Of:
Don't brush your hair immediately after straightening, just light finger combing until it cools down. It helps with the frizz, I swear on it.
Anyways, this is my first ever blog posted and I've had this account for over a year! I hope you enjoy and let me know if you want me to write more. <3
