1 year on spacehey

hello my beautiful angels! <3♡

first of all... omg.

i can't believe it's been a whole entire year since i joined spacehey... like it's actually been a year???

i heard about spacehey around this time last year, i have always wanted to experience the early myspace days and i thought to myself,

"why not take a chance and make an account? it sounds fun. customising your profile? i'm so down! i'm such a nerd for html and css anyways, so i might as well take a chance."

in the beginning, i would spend hours upon hours customising my profile, searching up codes online, finding pictures on pinterest, endless youtube videos to make sure that my codes were just right. as time-consuming as it first was, i adore how much freedom the website gives its users to curate your own profile to your heart's content. it's something that modern day apps such as tiktok and instagram could only dream of. 

what started with me messing around with different layouts and wanting to get a taste of nostalgia for the mid-2000s turned into something more profound, more personal. this space gradually became my little digital diary, my creative outlet, my escape from modern social media and truthfully... a version of myself i didn't always feel i could be anywhere else.

from bulletin posts, to messy strings of coding, to late night instant message conversations... i have grown so much since being on spacehey. i have had the amazing opportunity to connect with likeminded people, people who i have found inspiration from, and i have been able to curate something that feels like mine.

before i finish this blog, i just want to give a huge thank you to anyone who has interacted with me, instant messaged me, or if you're too shy to get in touch... thank you too. from engaging with digital overload and short-form content to a more mindful approach of using the internet, you have all been a part of my experience of quitting social media. rest assured, you can always catch me on here, pinterest, or tumblr.
