this is my workspace and pretty much my retro gaming and browsing rig. my previous blog was... ahem... overly technical, but this one will be mainly about aesthetics

and the system desktop looks like this:

you can pretty much see what i do on this machine. gaming, socials, writing ans some creativity.
if anyone is interested, spec-wise this computer is nothing special. it's a dual-core Pentium with a mid-range 2004 graphics card. only exception is sound. this is the best sounding computer i ever had, so it often just sits there with Winamp opened and Milkdrop fullscreen. when using high quality audio files, Winamp not just whips the llama's ass, but does it so hard it sends said llama to 4th dimension from where it gets isekai'd into a minecraft world (and that's how minecraft llamas were created)

i also lately started ripping modern media and storing it in era appropriate codec formats.

it has a high end sound card. for nerds, here's all you have to know:
the card is Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Audio. supports latest EAX, so games have hardware mixing and hardware spatial audio effects. very good stuff.

and for anyone interested, actual specs:

there's something kind of telling about the fact that your genuine in-depth blog about retro tech got so little attention but this one about the surface-level retro vibes aesthetic seems to be doing better lol, all subcultures are destined to be like thisseeing something with only 2gb of memory feels so quaint, i think my phone is more capable than this computer...
i'm not super into retro tech, so i can't add much, but as an aspiring artist, i'm curious to know what you write
