(This blog is a nigh-on schizophrenic rant about internet slang. This is your warning.)
You know what's bad? AI. I'm sure you all know this by now, but according to this bumfucker youtuber everyone knows and nobody names, AI is "slop". And you know what? Most things are slop! Like how the top blogs are filled with "rageslop"... or ragebait. God, I forget which suffix I'm supposed to attach there. I know bait is meant to provoke people, but is slop just anything poor quality? Or does it mean generic? Is generic necessarily bad? I think I heard "gem" as the opposite of slop once... oh, and wouldn't the term AI slop invoke the idea of AI gem?
This slang better not just be a list of prefixes and suffixes.
And I suppose the prefix is the adjective, and the suffix is the noun? So RageBait is something upsetting meant to provoke people. HopeSlop is something enlightening that's just churned out... I'm off my ass right now. So I'm writing ragegem, then. Because "rage" is Something Upsetting, and "gem" is a Rare Good Something. I would NEVER write hopeslop.
What the fuck am I writing?
Oh, um, AI. It's bad. It's also everywhere, except for the Good Websites. Neocities would never do an AI. Because it's slop and they're gem, I believe.
...is Clone Hero "uncslop" or "uncgem"?
You know, I've seen a lot of comparisons to Newspeak, but the difference I see here is that newspeak focuses on this sort of... forced positivity? Like, something can't be "bad", it can only be "ungood". Perhaps even "plus ungood", or in a REAL rarity, "doubleplusungood". So there's no negative, no bad. It undermines the tone.
But with the suffixes we've got, the good tends to be the needle in the haystack, what with most things being "slop" and the rare good being "gem". Of course, that's mostly in terms of nouns- there's also "bait", "maxxing", "cel", and such other terms. I mean, attatch any slang term as the prefix and it just works. Even if I don't know what the hell a "slopcel" would look like.
What the hell is a cel, anyhoo? Doesn't that come from incel, like involuntary celibate? Does "cel" mean something different now?
...Ok, it has almost 500 definitions on urban. Does that make me an urbanmaxxing slangcel(god i hate writing this but my train of thought is chuggin' along!) Oh, and I guess some people use the r-word as a suffix, much like how a lot of slurs use the n-word as a suffix. See, slang isn't based on 1984- it's based on SLURS! (Personally, I would NEVER say a slur.)
You know what? Nobody's reading this, so I can put WHATEVER I WANT as a closing argument! Like, go to the comments and tell me what the hell "slopmaxxing" or an "unc-cel" is. Or "hopebait".
(I should also acknowledge this is mostly just internet-addicted slang I hope nobody actually uses. I've seen people use -slop and -cel in life and in passing, but I've never had to witness someone use -maxxing or -gem, and I hope to god it stays that way.)
