Just wanted to share a few things about me:
Politics play a big part in my life. I’m from Slovakia, which is quite far-right and conservative.
I’m queer and someone who deals with a lot of mental illness that affects my life pretty heavily. Because of the political climate in my country, I often feel like I might not be able to fully live my life. That’s why I lean very far left and consider myself progressive. I’m always open to learning new things and keeping an open mind.
!! Even though I’m far left, I do not support or condone countries like China, North Korea, or historical Soviet Russia/USSR. I don’t believe those countries were ever truly “left” or “socialist.” In my opinion, they were/are dictatorships with forms of state capitalism.
I support sex work and I’m quite open about my views on it. If you want to learn more, I recommend the book Porn Work by Heather Berg.
I don’t support any kind of discrimination (except maybe against billionaires and conservatives…). I think things like gender wars only contribute to the alienation of society and working-class people. That said, I do support educating people about gender violence and discussing how societal norms iaffect it.
Now, a bit about me:
I love books and read all genres, but I especially enjoy horror, sci-fi, and fantasy. I also read a lot of manga, mainly ones with queer representation, though I like romance manga in general too. Some of my favorite books are Dune, The Three-Body Problem, Gideon the Ninth, Interview with the Vampire, Wuthering Heights, and more.
I enjoy watching horror movies of any kind or subgenre. I don’t watch many other types of films, but I’ve seen quite a lot of older movies from around 1920 to 1990.
I like all kinds of music and listen to many genres. My favorites are probably metal and indie, but I’m very open-minded. I also really enjoy Slavic folk music.
In my free time, I draw, do embroidery, and play games. I have two adorable dogs and one turtle. I also collect coins, porcelain dolls, and vinyl records.
