Well, Fall changed to Winter, and Winter changed to temperate, and sure enough, spring is in the air again.
References aside, spring is once again here. This year in central valley california, it's a bit of a dry one. There wasn't much rain during the winter, so the normally bright and muddy outskirts of my hometown won't have the quite the fresh air feel to them, nor do I imagine sunsets will look as nice. It's good to keep active though, go on a nice (and extremely tiring) 5 mile run, around the neighborhood.
Spring has gotta be one of the most melancholic times for me. It's usually bright, warm, and cool, but at the same time, usually all the cool stuff you're doing in life is coming to an end around the corner, and stuff like school has work piling up as you prepare to go on summer break.
I remember when the spring break of my junior year of high school I got into an argument with my Track Coach Mr. Renia, and I ended up getting myself cut from a track meet. I felt real bad about it for much of that break, but I fixed things up and I got back to running a few weeks later.
A lot of the bus rides, and track meets I went to back then felt really liminal. It's probably cause I was listening to some really dreamy sort of electronic music at the time (Earthbound's OST, Sweet Trip, Aphex Twin, Splatoon 3: Side Order OST), but being in really unfamiliar places like that, It made me wonder, "how different would my high school life be if I grew up going this school?" or wondering what it's like to get really cool views of the mountains everyday, or admiring the bright springtime colors, etc, etc...
Spring-time music
My personal recommendation for a really spring-time feeling album has gotta be Sweet trip's You Will Never Know Why. Bright, simple, complex, clean, rough around the edges at points, poppy, dreamy. Makes me yearn for those days I'm driving back from the next town over, and looking to my left to see the sun setting after the rain. Definite recommend if you want some nice, minimal shoegazer, electronic, dream pop-rock
Alternatively, a bandcamp link as well.
