the tone of what they say

some friend you were. how do you expect undying loyalty from me. thats not how this works. if you go around trampling on peoples boundaries and ignoring your massive character flaws when time and time again its harmed the people around you then i dont owe you loyalty. our relationship doesnt exist in a vacuum. loyalty is something to be earned. ive known you for years and for a time i was loyal in some form to you. not sure if thats because i believed you were a good person and friend or if my standards were just alot lower before. you think im weak for cutting you off. but its the opposite. i was weak for letting you stay in my life, when you made friends of mine uncomfortable, when you stepped over boundaries and acted like a spiteful baby when it was time to apologize, when you encouraged and normalized casual drug addiction within the group, when i was trying to quit and you kept smoking bowl after bowl right in front of me after i made it clear it was triggering urges. when will you learn. i grew a spine in the aftermath of your more egregious actions recently. its just. when someone fails over and over again to show the capability for change, and the way they are now is actively harmful, it makes sense to get rid of them. some part of me feels i owe you a civil conversation... whether or not that feeling is worth acting on in the first place, it seems too late for that now. bridges are burnt from both sides. ive grown past you. we have grown past you. you will be left behind. i wont be coming back.
